Crisis Stabilization Practices at NYC CVI Sites
This project will directly help the Department develop new protocols around best practices in case management and crisis stabilization and how to better connect CVI efforts to other parts of government and community-based service providers, so that it can more successfully stabilize the population of people most at risk of involvement in community violence.
Treatments and Intervening Variables in Measuring Community Violence Interventions: Laying the Groundwork for Assessing CVI
This study will develop a set of variables that are being utilized by CVI programs to aid ongoing operation and evaluation of such programs. This is not in itself an evaluation study. Instead, it seeks to look at what groups say they are doing and compare and label these interventions across sites, to develop a more consistent set of variables to be measured by future evaluators and to allow organizations to better internally monitor and evaluate their activities. I plan to follow up this research with proposals for additional funding for actual evaluations of CVI programs.
